The third training seminar of the «Regional museum Academy-2019», dedicated to the topic «Designing and design of expositions and exhibitions», was held at the Museum of Defense of the Brest Fortress.
Susanne Benzing, a well-known German specialist in the design and implementation of museum expositions and exhibitions, became the referee of the seminar. Through lectures and interactive tasks, she revealed the most important aspects of the art of museum display: “Concept, sketch and design of an exhibition”, “How to tell a story?” (or "Exhibition Design as a Communication Means"), "Texts, Graphics, Exhibition Orientation" and others. The conference hall of the museum became a real laboratory of exposition design for two days of the seminar.
The final task from the referent called "Interventions" was worked out by the students of the Academy in the format of the Hot-Spot exhibition, which they already know, under the guidance of Alla Stashkevich and Tatyana Bembel.
Larisa Bibik (center), Deputy Director for Research at the State Institution “Memorial Complex “Brest Fortress-Hero””, was not only responsible for organizing the reception of the group in the museum complex, but also took an active part in the work of the training seminar.

The expositions of the Museum of the Defense of the Brest Fortress and, in general, the space of the Memorial Complex "Brest Hero Fortress" served as an excellent platform for the group to study on the topic "Designing and design of expositions and exhibitions."
Acquaintance with exhibitions and expositions of the Brest Fortress and other museums in Brest has also become a learning format for all participants: real museum spaces have become material for in-depth, sometimes critical analysis and evaluation from the standpoint of acquired knowledge.
