In April 2019, the project “Regional Museum Academy-2019” was launched, the purpose of which is to expand the professional horizons of regional museums, strengthen their social role, and get acquainted with the best foreign practices. During the implementation of the project, 16 trainers from among the museum workers of Belarus were trained. In the future, they will pass on the knowledge and experience they have gained to their colleagues, becoming a kind of guide to the museum profession for employees of their own and other regional museums.
Within the framework of the Academy, four training seminars were held in Gomel, Polotsk, Brest and Mogilev on the following topics: cultural memory and museums; museum marketing and communication; design and design of expositions and exhibitions; exhibition and educational strategies of the museum.
In addition, in October 2019, a group of trainers completed a 4-day internship in Germany (Berlin and Dresden). The Academy was taught by leading museum professionals from Germany and Belarus.
Upon completion of the project, Minsk hosted an international symposium on topical issues of museum work. Graduates of the Academy received the corresponding certificate.
